The Stud...made to
measure
Situated on both sides of the Kings River, the stud is divided
in two very distinct
units:
Shipton Estate
The original farm, with limestone faced buildings. The stallions
are based
in this yard which is attached to 60 acres of railed paddocks.
There are 15
stables for visiting mares.
Bluegate
On the other side of the river, there are the purpose built
stud buildings,
with the foaling unit adjacent to the main house as well as
an American
barn, lungeing ring and horse walker. This part lies on 60 acres
of
paddocks which are also fully railed.
Due to the nature of this arrangement, there is no contact between
the boarding
mares and the visiting mares and stallions. |
